This device is a kind of paper clip that is capable of projecting a graphical interface onto the palm of a hand.

It is called Humane and would be the first device that could put an end to smartphones. It was created by Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, former Apple employees.

It is a kind of clip that attaches to clothing and is equipped with artificial intelligence. Thus, it can project on the palm of a hand or on a flat surface a graphical interface; its projection is operated by voice commands.

Humane does not need to connect to any smartphone or smartwatch. It is a totally independent device. It is not known exactly where the information is stored; some claim it is linked to a cloud.

How does the device work?

Humane is put to the test at the annual TED 2023 conference, which was held in Vancouver, Canada. For the demonstration, a call was placed to Chaudhri mid-conference to show how the device works. Chaudhri showed an image in the palm of his hand that appeared to be a call notification, which he immediately answered, commenting that it is a call from his wife.

Humane also has an assistant, a real-time translator that can conduct conversations similar to ChatGPT, and a camera to identify objects. A production and retail date has not yet been set.

Undoubtedly, Humane is an interesting object that challenges smartphone developers around the world. Moreover, it could change the way humans have so far interacted with artificial intelligence.

In the near future, there will no longer be a need to have a phone at hand to make a call; it will be enough to clip a small device to your clothing to communicate.

Finally, the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University) (UNIB) offers the Master in Strategic Management with a Specialty in Management.
