This virtual tool prevents and detects learning and development difficulties of students at an early stage.
Dide is a tool from Grupo Edelvives. This tool detects educational difficulties of students between the ages of 12 and 18 years at an early stage; that being, learning, developmental, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. Moreover, it detects the student’s strengths through a questionnaire with 35 indicators, which later on provides a profile of the student. These indicators are classified into three groups: education and learning, social and emotional development, and behavior.
It is important to know the developmental profile of a student from an early age, starting from two years old, because it shows their strengths and weaknesses. This way, learning problems are prevented before they become evident.
How does this tool work?
The first step is to register the name and the age of the student to later select the indicator to be evaluated. Then, the system shows a questionnaire that needs to be answered by family members or teachers who wish to participate. Up to eight people can participate.
After procuring the answers, Dide creates a report with the results showing the orientation guidelines for the student. Regarding this, Alberto Ramírez, Founder of Dide, states the following: “[It] is a 360° analysis which sets the minor as its central axis and helps obtain information on significant aspects regarding their learning: about their development, social relationships, and behavior.”
What was the purpose of creating this tool?
The goal of Grupo Edelvives is that no student is excluded from having their needs met. This way, the student can improve their learning through personalized teaching resources according to their needs. According to Alejandro Cebrián, Operations Director of Grupo Edelvives, when we talk about education, we are not only referring to curricular content. But also about abilities and emotions, which aren’t less important.
Furthermore, the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University) (UNIB), offers the Master in Education with a Specialty in the Organization and Management of Education Centers.
