The “LudumProba” project of the National University of Rosario (UNR) seeks to redesign evaluation in higher education.
During the pandemic, public universities had to adapt quickly to the situation in order to continue operations.
According to Franco Bartolacci, Director of UNR, the pandemic acted as a window of opportunity to implement major changes. SInce the pandemic was a challenge that transformed the teaching-learning relationship. It showed the need to implement technology in education to develop a virtual pedagogical educational model.
Marcelo de la Torre, a member of the Laboratorio de Innovación Nómade Educativo (Educational Nomad Innovation Lab), recalls that several virtual projects were carried out during the pandemic. One of them was the Virtual Patio of the UNR, through which the University was made known to potential students. Nine thousand students participated in this activity, which demonstrated the need to incorporate this kind of space.
What is the LudumProba Project?
The basis of this project is to make an issue of the link between playfulness and education in order to form a community of practice; this is the first phase of the project.
According to Anibal Rossi, the LudumProba project is a playful and collaborative proposal that aims to link playfulness and education. Rossi points out the following: “We seek to redesign the evaluative instances in education at the middle and higher levels. The pillars are three: education, playfulness, and community”.
This proposal is a team strategy game, with 4 to 6 participants, where all participants compete against each other, based on questions and answers.
In this regard, Director Bartolacci emphasized the commitment of the UNR to transform itself and generate an institution committed to its time. The idea is to work with a university that is not the same as the one existing before the pandemic. To achieve this goal, the University has come a long way, evaluating teaching practices and the educational system.
Lastly, the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University) (UNIB), offers the Master in Education with a Specialty in Higher Education.
