According to sociologist and director of the Observatory of the Argentine Chamber of Teacher Training, Hernán Martini, educational needs have changed. In recent times, non-formal education has become more relevant. Non-formal education refers to distance education; it also includes short courses and short training.

According to Martini, there are three factors driving the boom in non-formal education: the advance of technology, there are many teenagers who do not complete their secondary education and opt for training, and vertigo.

Vertigo refers to the increase in the amount of time people spend on social networks. Approximately two and a half hours, which generates anxiety and a desire for immediacy.

The new models of distance education

The new education models are more flexible, offering three, six, or nine-month programs that form an educational cycle. Moreover, nowadays everyone can learn at a distance, which is why this sector has become more professional. Distance education was not accepted before. Today, however, even many companies are choosing this modality.

In addition, people are opting for short training courses, and this is a reality that is not exclusive to one age group.

On the other hand, new pedagogical models are rapidly adapting to new educational needs.  These kinds of modalities or short trainings adapt quickly to the anxiety that people face. That is, studying for short periods in order to work as quickly as possible. These trainings offer quick job opportunities.

No matter what educational modality is chosen, what matters is to study. Education is always profitable, that is, it has benefits in the present and in the future as well.

Finally, the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University) (UNIB), offers the Master’s Degree in Education with a Specialty in Higher Education
