Many of the parks will be new and the rest will be remodeled to be inclusive. According to the municipal government, the idea is that 90% of the population will have a children’s playground within 15 minutes from home.
In order to carry out this project, an ideas competition was held, from which 5 proposals for playgrounds with different characteristics were chosen.
The 5 Approved Park Models
- The Three Mushrooms. This project is proposed by Rosselló-Sangenís architects. It is the most particular and largest project and will be located in the Jardines de Málaga, in the Sants neighborhood. In this project, a forest will be recreated, in which three huge mushrooms will be distinguished and each one of them will be destined for an age range.
- Sensory Worm. This project was presented by the UTE. It will be built in the Vil-la AmèliaGardens, in Sarrià, and the Dr. Roig and Raventós Gardens, located in the Tres Torres. This park will include a sensory worm to guide visitors.
- A Lot of Games. This project is proposed by Mireia Martín Salvanyà. The park will be built in the Elisa Antonella square and Garcia Fària promenade. A vegetated perimeter will be erected in this park to provide shelter from the environment and shade in summer. In addition, the games will be built on mounds to create a variety of play experiences.
- P.L.A.Y. The fourth model of parks will be located in Carretera Antiga d’Horta, Ventura Gassol and Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente squares. A large octagonal portico will be created in the middle of the park. In addition, there will be swings and other games to climb on.
- Rock & Roll. Ada Sánchez Arcusa presented this project. This park will be built in square and garden areas with perimeter trafficand will be located in the gardens of Celestina Vigneaux and Emili Mira square. It will also have a vegetated area and the internal paths of the gardens will be arranged to make the place more accessible.
