There is a good chance that you will learn to save money with this ancient Japanese technique if you are willing to do it.

Nowadays, there is a great tendency towards consumerism, and we are increasingly confronted with offers and advertisements. In this context, learning to save is a challenge and requires self-control and knowledge. Therefore, we present this ancient technique to learn how to save if you are willing to give up your bad financial habits; this way, you will be able to build a better future.

The ancient technique is called Kakeibo and was developed by the Japanese Hani Motoko. This technique is focused on women who manage their households and require assistance in maintaining their finances.

Steps of the Japanese technique

  1. Find a notebook or diary

Writing by hand establishes a greater connection between the mind and the amounts being written. This habit can help you have more control, so find a notebook to write down all your finances.

  1. Set medium and long-term objectives

It is essential to set medium and long-term goals in the different areas of your life. They can be educational, health, leisure, shopping, travel goals, etc. Goals linked to retirement should be on the list.

The idea is to set real objectives that can be closely evaluated. For example, obtaining one million dollars in two months. Is it possible? Do you agree? Be realistic.

  1. Record and categorize expenses

It consists of recording everything in writing, including those smaller bills that often go unnoticed. You should write down every expense you make, as well as categorize them. That is, divide them by areas, for example, health, education, market, leisure, among others.

This will help you see where you spend the most to reduce it, always keeping savings in mind. It is important to note that savings require concrete and organized objectives.

  1. Reflect and optimize

After getting an overview of your monthly expenses, reflect on the amounts invested in each area of your life. Have investments been made correctly? What can be optimized? What can be saved? You may have to consider putting aside certain leisure and entertainment expenses; however, you should not go to extremism either. Leisure is also important to balance your life.

This technique does not offer a gimmick or magic. The key is constancy and dedication.
